GLANUSK HEAD GARDENER POSITION
The position of Head Gardener is becoming vacant from 1st January 2022 and the Estate is looking to fill this position within the next 6 weeks in order to allow a smooth handover of this position. The Gardens have been featured on ITV’s ‘A Year in the Beacons’ most recently as well as many other TV segments and programmes over the years.
The applicant should have a good general knowledge of gardening and be capable of propagation of plants to management of cutting beds, perennials, fruit, shrubs, trees, and rock garden plants. The applicant should be fit and healthy as some of the terrain is a little steep in areas.
The Head Gardener currently oversees 2 gardens on the Estate and with the assistance of estate staff maintains the Lodge Garden (used for Holiday Accommodation and weddings) and main house garden at Penmyarth (guests, parties, and weddings).
Duties include providing fresh flowers to the holiday accommodation and main house when guests are present as well as enhancing and maintaining the current gardens.
