Stuck for gift ideas or inspiration for a team bonding exercise or corporate event during the Fishing Season? What about sending a voucher or organising fishing on 5 private miles of the River Usk at Glanusk deep in the heart of the Brecon Beacons? We are two and a half hours from London, two hours from Birmingham and accessible by road, train or air.
The fishing season begins on the 3rd of March with Brown Trout season ending on 30th September and Salmon and Sea Trout season ending on 17th October.
To fully enjoy the beautiful surroundings why not tie it in with a stay in Garden Cottage, Oak Retreat, The Library, The Tower, or perhaps organise a fishing party and stay in Glanusk Lodge or the fully catered Penmyarth House?
The Glanusk Estate operates a full Catch and Release system for Salmon and Sea Trout. Owing to diminishing stocks in the Usk it is vital we retain as many fish of both genders to allow re-generation of the river and its tributaries. This is in support of the recommendations of the Usk Fishing Association.
There will be no spinning or bait fishing on the Estate water unless the river is above 2 feet on the bridge gauge after 31st May to the end of the season.
Anglers are requested to adhere to the Wye & Usk Foundation and AST methods for catch and release, and release fish as quickly and safely as possible. We would prefer you to use barbless hooks for salmon fishing but no Trebles are allowed on the Estate Fishery.
Brown Trout season : 3rd March to 30th September £35 per rod
Salmon and Sea Trout season : 3rd March to 17th October £45 per rod
Tuition is available upon request.
Fly fishing is the only permitted method between 3rd March and 31st May.
