COUPLES POSITION/SINGLE HOUSEKEEPER

Glanusk Events LLP is the hospitality trading arm of the Glanusk Estate, based outside Crickhowell, Powys in the Brecon Beacons National Park.  The company manages 5 holiday properties, 2 gardens, all sporting activities on the Estate including fishing on the River Usk, major and minor 3rd Party Events, film and TV productions, weddings and celebrations, a Caravan Park, as well as running a number of in house events annually.  At anyone time during the ‘open’ season, we may have up to 100 guests and customers staying on the Estate daily.  The Events business is run by the Managing Partner, Harry Legge-Bourke and Debbie Murray the Glanusk Estate Manager.

Job Description for Housekeeper

Glanusk Lodge is the largest holiday accommodation on the Estate and is used by guests visiting the Estate for weddings, celebrations, fishing and house parties.  It has 7 bedrooms and is used year round.  Surrounding the House are the formal gardens and main events space for weddings and events at Glanusk. 

Working with the current Glanusk team of Housekeepers who look after holiday accommodation you will be required but not limited to:

  • Clean and prepare rooms, reception areas and outdoor areas of the house pre guest arrival.
  • Liaise with incoming guests prior to their arrival in regard to their stay at Glanusk.
  • Meet and greet guests on arrival. 
  • Brief guests on itinerary in co-ordination with Events Team.
  • Act as Point of Contact for brides and grooms during their wedding.
  • Prepare afternoon teas, hampers, layup dining room and breakfast room.
  • Work alongside the private chef/cook (if one is required) in preparation and delivery of ‘service’ throughout the day.
  • Maintain the house in operational order whilst liaising with the Estate Maintenance Manager.
  • Change lightbulbs and other very basic tasks within the house.
  • Co-ordinate with Glanusk team regarding breakages or maintenance issues with the house.
  • Oversee contractors when in the house, linen collection and delivery, food collection and delivery for clients.
  • When the Lodge is occupied by self catering, be prepared to help at other holiday accommodation or Penmyarth (the main house) and assist other staff members.

Accommodation

Accommodation is provided for the position in a 2 bed flat in the stable yard.  The flat is located close to Glanusk Lodge in the heart of the park.
