In the past 24 hours Welsh Government have lifted many of the restrictions that were in place that stopped large scale events happening in Wales. To that end and with the announcement yesterday, the Green Man Festival will now be going ahead here at Glanusk. As part of Glanusk contractual obligations that have been in place for many years with the organiser, we do have to close accommodation and restrict access to the Estate (Festival Site) for the build up, festival itself and take down. A consequence to the ‘Full Festival’ going ahead is that we are also required to close the Glanusk Caravan Park to guests who had booked a pitch during the time when Green Man had other ‘smaller plans’ and allowed us to keep open the caravan park for August.
We are very very sorry to have caused much anger, angst and disruption to our customers holiday plans. Harry Legge-Bourke has personally emailed every customer and tried to speak to as many as possible in the short time we have had to tell people that the Festival in full is now happening.
Harry has said “I am very pleased that for thousands of Green Man festival goers that the full festival has been allowed to go ahead by Welsh Government this year after what has been a terrible year and half for so many, but I am also very aware and conscious of the few hundred people who have booked to stay at Glanusk this August, the news of us having to cancel their pitches and accommodation will be devastating blow to their holiday plans for which I am truly sorry. We will be refunding in full or holding over their bookings till they can return”.
