LIVESTOCK WORRYING

Latest News
We would like to remind you that dogs should be kept on leads around livestock for the safety of livestock and the livelihood of farmers.
Despite continual reminders we are saddened to hear of an incident yesterday.

Dyfed Powys Police have said “Livestock worrying continues to be an issue across the Dyfed Powys force area, in Powys division alone we dealt with eight incidents during January 2021, and have had one incident reported so far as of 4th February.

Incidents occur when dogs are unsupervised, escape from their gardens or when not kept under control when out walking.
Livestock worrying results in suffering to the livestock, financial loss and in some circumstances dogs being destroyed.

Please ensure dogs are kept secure when at home, or kept on a lead whilst out walking.

Stick to footpaths when walking in rural locations, avoid fields and footpaths if livestock is present.
